I am a General Health Psychologist (Psicóloga General Sanitaria). On an individual level I can help you if you feel that your life is limited by, or you are suffering because of, certain thoughts (e.g. negative, intrusive) or feelings (sadness, anxiety, fear…). In particular, I work with problems such as anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder. I can also help you if you are just going through a difficult time in your life. My goal in our sessions will be to help you acquire skills so that you can relate in another way to those uncomfortable and problematic internal states that you experience as an obstacle to doing the things that are important to you.
As a couple’s therapist I can help you if you are going through a moment of difficulty, disconnection, or conflict in your relationship.
Of course, everything we discuss in our sessions, both individually and as a couple, is subject to a strict duty of confidentiality.”
As an individual therapist I work from the model of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (also known as “ACT”, read as one word), belonging to the so-called “third generation” of evidence-based psychological therapies.
As a couple’s therapist, I work with Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), developed by Sue Johnson. This evidence-based approach has excellent efficacy data and a low relapse rate.
